Ethernet - Ethernet is a family of computer networking technologies for local area networks (LANs) and one of the primary Control Communication Backbone technologies available in home automation. Ethernet signals are typically carried by cat5 or cat6 wire through a home’s network. Ethernet was commercially introduced in 1980 and has become the de facto standard in home networking.
